It's wonderful that you understand how the parts of your personality interact. I have a few true Introvert friends who ended up with a highly Extroverted child. That is an interesting combination. My oldest boys would probably be I's too if they took the test. It is sometimes difficult for my oldest to live in our large household. He told me when he was about 7 that he is never comfortable in a room with more that 10 people.

The I/E parts of me seem to take turns where the other traits are much more merged.
I remember trying to explain to people that I was actually very shy when I was younger, mostly I seemed to have people explain to me that I didn't know what I was talking about. Maybe that is a trend? And no, I'm not asking anyone's opinions. I suppose the way I think... I process things by holding things up and looking at each side... takes longer than most. I think people, even those who should know me best, often think they should step in and figure things out for me, misinterpreting my pace as dysfunction. The world just moves faster than I'd like.

Oh, I forgot to mention why it freed me. The "I" being so off the charts gave me permission to be the hermit I want to be. I was so confused in life because I am SO outgoing, not at ALL shy. The opposite of shy. But people wipe me out. Learning the Myers Briggs stuff (whether it's valid or not) helped me be okay with that part of me. Outgoing but introverted. Where do I get my energy? Not *with* people! :-)

I love knowing my type because it freed me to be me. I'm an INFJ/P (50/50 on the J/P typically). My I is off the charts. My NF is strong, too, but because I am who I am I have NO idea what the NFJ/P parts mean. :-)

I really enjoyed this post. I also find it curious that you have so many people telling you what to do, how to be. Are you asking their opinions? I think I'd go batty if people were telling me what I needed. (Unless I asked, I suppose.)

In my opinion, the only person who knows what you need is you. :-) Lots of smilies here. Thanks for the great post.
